I renewed some drawers I found in my family country house barn. The original furniture style was too much ’80s: aseptic, industrial and dull. Definitely not worthy! So I took only the drawers, which deserved a second chance: I sanded, cured, painted and internally covered with technical paper.
I had the drawers, but no framework… let’s built it! 😉

It resulted in an iron parallelepiped with many bones (= i.e. the guides of the drawers) + a central vertical rigid bar which is suspended and it works for guide for the half (= smaller) drawers. At first impact it can be considered not that much important, but it really is the most interesting part of the furniture: since it’s got no bottom joint there’s a risk fot it to weave. But it’s been made with criterium so…no risk! 🙂
This kind of framework could be used for many applications, not only as a structure for the drawers: I can create shelves, transform it in a clothes hanging or use it as a ladder.
I like it a lot, I like the clean shape and its simplicity.
