First experience as artist during a collective art expo held in Brescia in May 2023 at ArtSpace7.

The woman in the picture represents all those who look the world from behind a curtain because they are scared of facing it (inside vs outside world).
I added items to the picture (glasses, necklace, sock,…) which represents experiences (and eventually all the times people dear enjoying the outside world).
I created a structure for the picture and behind it I placed a mirror and a shelf. In practice the picture becomes a separè and/or a portable makeup table (Art can have multiple purposes).
The mirror represents the constant facing with ourselves in our intimacy. Cracks represent personal defects/problems we all have to deal with, as long as we live. They can evolve, multiply, reduce, but there will always be cracks in our souls.
I paint the main crack with red lipstick. This represents awareness and wisdom: we can’t stop the cracks but at least we can make them prettier.
Last but non least: everything is made with recycled components and materials for a reason. As the damaged and forgotten painting in itself was mute, all those scraps of wood, metal, mdf, strings, fake jewelry that I stock in my lab were meaningless.
They got together for a reason and with a project: they became (again) part of a meaningful existence. I gave them a reason not to been thrown away.
