Project developed for the italian association 7milamiglialontano in collaboration with Cauto, Itaca is a boat… or better a raft or whatever it makes you float on water. And it’s made of plastic bottles. Hundreds. And scraps (wood, bamboo, canapa ropes). You pile them, you built up modules, assemble, tight each piece to another and create a structure. More or less the creation process is always the same. But this one was kind of a boat: engineered by Marco, a naval engineer, I did the “dirty” job with the helpful hands of Francesco, member of 7mml.

Once finished, Itaca sailed all around the lakes in Brescia (Iseo Lake, Idro Lake and Garda Lake) for an awareness campaign on water. A month on waters and it resisted till the end!!
I thank all of them (the stakeholders) for giving me the opportunity to be part of it. I feel proud to be the one who makes what usually other artisans don’t.
Aaand… I’m happy everybody in the end was happy.
